Microsoft Launches Premier Enterprise Messaging and Collaboration Solution
New features of Exchange 2010 combine to deliver the highest levels of reliability and performance
Microsoft today announced the release of Exchange 2010, the latest version of its enterprise messaging and collaboration solution. Hailed as the cornerstone of Microsoft’s vision for unified communications, the solution offers the widest range of deployment options, integrated information leakage protection and advanced compliance capabilities, that combine to deliver the highest levels of reliability and performance.
Flexible and Reliable
Exchange Server 2010 offers the flexibility to tailor deployment based on customers’ unique needs and a simplified way to help keep e-mail continuously available to users.
Customers can choose from on-premises deployment with Exchange Server 2010, a Microsoft hosted service with Exchange Online, or a seamless mix of both. Building on Continuous Replication technologies of Exchange 2007, a simplified approach to high availability and disaster recovery coupled with enhanced maintenance tools, will help customers to achieve new levels of reliability and reduce the complexity of delivering business continuity.
Anywhere Access
Customers can enable users to be more productive and effective by giving them the freedom to securely access all of their communications – e-mail, voice mail, instant messaging, and more – from virtually any platform, Web-browser, or device through industry standard protocols.
Users can gain access to all of their communications from a single location and collaborate more effectively with each other and their business partners. Exchange 2010 adds new productivity features that can help your users more easily organise and prioritise the communications and tackle the ever-growing flow of information into and out of an individual’s inbox.
Protection and Compliance
Exchange 2010 delivers new, integrated e-mail archiving and retention functionality, including granular multi-mailbox search and immediate legal hold. Combined with the flexibility provided by the Exchange storage architecture, customers can take better control of corporate information, while providing users with a non disruptive, streamlined experience.
Exchange also makes it easy to better protect communications and e-mail through centrally managed information control capabilities. This includes the ability to intercept, moderate, encrypt and block e-mail more effectively. Together, this functionality provides a flexible range of protection and control options with the freedom to automatically enforce controls or empower users to implement their own data protection.
